Well, certified organic cotton is grown and processed without the use of synthetic chemicals, fertilisers, or GMO’s. The Australian Certified Organic (ACO) Standard is one of the most respected and rigorous standards in the world for organic production. It can take more than three years for a farm to receive organic certification. Organic production typically requires more human labour, land and cost input than conventional cotton production. Certified organic is a whole systems approach, and is a holistic means of growing and handling. This links the whole system – Soil, Plants, People, Environment – to create a sustainable material.

Where is the cotton grown?

The ACO certified organic cotton is grown in India by a company believing in equality, corporate social responsibility and ethical business dealings.

Where are the tea towels printed?

The tea towels are then printed in Melbourne, Australia, by Organic Print Studio, with organic printing standards and dye inks.

How long for shipping?

I dispatch my Protea organic tea towel within 4 business days from Sydney, then allow for shipping times. They are sent through Australia Post with standard, tracked shipping (which is a flat rate of $6 Australia wide). Once your tea towel is shipped you will receive a tracking number.
